If you follow me on Instagram (@girlmeetsstyle_) or saw my post on My Top 5 Places to Visit on the Upper East Side then you would know that I was in New York City last week! I spent the week at Lim College’s Summer Fashion Lab. Today I will be showing you my outfits I wore through out the week.
This is the outfit I wore on Monday, my first full day in the city. I wear this dress all the time because it is the most comfortable dress plus it was only $15 from Marshalls! I added a tassel necklace from Forever 21 and my cobalt blue Kendra Scott earrings to dress it up a little. I wore my black New Balance 574 sneakers with it during the day but then changed into my Jack Rogers for dinner.
Day 2 rolls around and I pulled out my most colorful outfit. I totally stood out in a city where the most popular color is black (even in the summer). I purchased this top at a Market in Pawleys Island, the brand is Sugar Hill. This top could be paired with white shorts, denim or the lime pair I have on. I wore my Jack Rogers because they were the only shoe I had that matched. I recommend you don’t wear Jack Rogers to walk around the city, my feet were killing me afterwards.
I also carried my Longchamp bag with me to class because I had a lot to carry.
On Wednesday I wanted to add some sequins to my outfit. I felt that NYC was the best place to wear sequins during the day. I added these black shorts and my new balances to dress it down.
I had to wear my gingham skirt on this trip because it is my favorite piece in my currently in my closet! Wednesday night I went shopping and to dinner with my parents. I kept my look super classic by adding a white shirt with a white statement necklace! I then wore a pair of black aerosoles sandals!
Thursday after class I went with my friends to Central Park and The Met. I purchased these black overalls from Topshop on Wednesday. It was super hot so it was nice to wear a dress. I then paired my cheetah print crop top underneath and I of course wore my black New Balance 574 sneakers.
For my last day I had a photoshoot in my styling class so I decided to dress up a little bit. I wore my palm leaf skirt that I made myself and I wore a white tank top from Old Navy. I’m sure you can guess what shoes I was wearing.
Also, how awesome is this wall!!
For my last night out we went to Sarabeth’s for dinner. I changed into this dress from Zara. I got it on sale for $50 in NYC. I wore a pair of my Kendra Scott earrings and a pair of tan chunky heels.
I still have more New York post coming soon, so stay tuned for that!
